Heartland Robotics seeks a Graphical User Interface Designer with five (5) years experience in user experience interface design work and a matching portfolio.

This position is part-time contract work.

Responsibilities:

• Transforming abstract concepts with minimal visualization into visually elegant screen-based applications that adhere to usability principles
• Creating visual UI mock-ups and interactive prototypes with little direction
• Collaborating with internal creative and technical teams to ensure that designs meet end user needs
• Developing fully documented designs of interactive applications that can be easily interpreted and implemented by experienced software developers
• Designing and building applications using appropriate tools including Illustrator and Photoshop, as necessary

• Must understand and employ a user-centered approach with a proven track record designing screen-based applications (beyond web design)
• Expert knowledge of appropriate design tools (samples of work requested)
• Strong analytic and problem solving skills
• Ability to work in a dynamic team-oriented environment as well as independently
• Willingness to work extended hours, if necessary, to complete projects according to schedule
• Must be detail oriented
• Bachelor of Arts or related field
• Minimum of five years of experience designing graphical user interfaces
